Wilyer Abreu looked like a candidate to be placed on the injured list Monday after leaving Sunday’s loss with right calf tightness. It was another outfielder, though, who hit the shelf in a series of pregame roster moves.

Eaton won’t be able to help out the bullpen, of course, which has looked shaky for two games in a row. First it was Isaiah Campbell on Saturday, whose poor performance forced Alex Cora to call on Aroldis Chapman, then it was Greg Weissert yesterday. (Christopher Smith, MassLive)

During Sunday’s series finale against the Miami Marlins, Abreu appeared to injure himself while tagging from third base on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning. He was removed from the game moments later and replaced by Alex Bregman, with the team making a flurry of adjustments on the field.
