Coastguards filed two cases yesterday against 89 people in connection with the rescue of 200 Bangladeshi and Myanmar nationals from two Thai cargo trawlers near St Martin's Island early Tuesday.

Thirty-nine foreigners have fled an online scam centre in Myanmar across the border to Thailand, where officials are working to identify potential trafficking victims, police told AFP yesterday.
