The 2024 campaign was a lost season for the San Francisco 49ers. Coming off a narrow, heartbreaking loss in Super Bowl LVIII, they were hoping to finally make good on their prolonged "Quest for Six," only to suffer a prolonged string of key injuries. As a result of those injuries, they went 6-11 and missed the playoffs.
No one on the 49ers had a rougher 2024 season than Christian McCaffrey. Now, with the 2025 season drawing ever nearer, the general public may not see the superstar back on the gridiron until the regular season begins Sept. 7.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Patrick Taylor is set to miss multiple weeks with a dislocated shoulder and Corey Kiner is set to be out for a similar amount of time after suffering a high-ankle sprain. Jeff Wilson and Ke’Shawn Vaughn are the other backs on the roster at the moment.
