Men, first responders, teachers and parents have been gathering at the entrances of Peoria Public Schools to show their support for the students and encourage them as they head into school.

"Ever since I started doing this work, I've seen the need for second-chance employment,” said Samantha Burgett, a police social worker who founded the Community Change Center.
