Major US trading partners scrambled over the weekend to finalize trade deals or lobby for extra time as President Donald Trump said he’s notifying about a dozen countries on Monday of the new tariff level on their shipments to the US.

President Donald Trump said early Friday his administration is resuming a broad set of tariffs on dozens of countries after a 90-day pause, as trade negotiations with many of those nations have failed to yield new deals.

The two sides have been racing against time to dust off the deal before president Donald Trump's 9-July deadline for countries to offer lower tariffs on US goods. The duties—raised earlier this year—are set to remain in force even after the agreement is unveiled,
