Acquired from the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday in exchange for goalie Petr Mrazek along with a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft and 2026 fourth-round selection, netminder John Gibson said he’s eager to man the crease for the Detroit Red Wings.

The Detroit Red Wings have acquired veteran goaltender John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks. Detroit sent backup goalie Petr Mrazek, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-rounder to Anaheim for a player whose name has been in trade rumors for several years.

After being displaced as the Ducks' starter in recent years, John Gibson is looking forward to showing he is still a quality NHL goaltender.
