The lake has hosted a number of competitions including the 1952 National Olympic rowing trials, the U.S. Nationals in 1975 and the U.S. Rowing Masters National Championship in 2005, 2012 and 2016.

Lake Quinsigamond accomplishments attributed to him, include bringing back the Middle States Regatta in 1950, the National Regatta in 1951, the Olympic trials in 1952 and later the Eastern Sprints.

“The latest samples obtained from Lake Quinsigamond on Thursday indicate that the water had returned to acceptable water quality standards,” said Derek Brindisi, Director of Public Health.
