The Deer Creek Fire, which started in eastern Utah and has already destroyed several structures, has crossed the state line into Colorado, state fire officials said.

The utility acknowledges a gap of nearly five hours in responding to an order to shut off some electrical circuits, but says workers were busy.

Orleans Complex Fire initially started 5:39 p.m. July 9 in Del Norte, Siskiyou County, California. Since its discovery four days ago, it has burned 7,319 acres, an increase of 1,476 acres since the last update. The blaze remains uncontained and and is still expanding by Sunday evening. The cause is, however, still being investigated.

Green waste bin collections that were suspended for nearly two weeks after a large fire at a waste site will begin again on 21 July. The fire at Elstow Waste Transfer Station near Bedford broke out at about 21:00 BST on Friday, 4 July and was finally put out on Thursday, 11 July.
