India backed up Shubman Gill's phenomenal 269 with three cheap England wickets on a dream day of test cricket for the visitors at Edgbaston on Thursday.

Gill’s magnificent knock, along with half-centuries from Ravindra Jadeja (89) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (87) helped India post a mammoth 587 on the board after they were put in to bat by England. The hosts later ended Day 2 of the second Test at Edgbaston on 77/3.

Shubman Gill’s stellar knock of 269 in the Edgbaston Test highlighted his form and composure as captain. With this innings, he etched his name in the record books and continued to impress with his growing stature in red-ball cricket.
